Steps to Install Software on all versions of Windows:
 We
recommend you disable any personal
firewall/security program before installing the
program, including, but not limited to, any of the utilities listed
below:
- Windows XP Internet Connection Firewall
- Mac OS X Firewall
- Norton Personal Firewall
- Norton Internet Security
- Norton Utilities
- Norton AntiVirus
- Tiny Personal Firewall
- Sygate Personal Firewall
- ZoneAlarm
- Kerio Personal Firewall
- McAfee Firewall
- BlackIce
NOTE: If you are not sure how to disable any of
these programs, please refer to the 'Help > FAQs' section for
instructions on how to disable with Windows/Mac firewalls and/or
refer to the user manual of your personal security program.
 Save
the installation file for the search program to
a location on your computer where you will be able to easily locate
it (eg. desktop, applications folder, etc.)

not on a system)
Double-click
on the file you downloaded in Step 3 to start the installation,
and proceed with the instructions provided below:

- The install window will open. Click “Next”
to initiate installation.

- Please read the License Agreement and click 'I Agree'
when you are ready to proceed.
|
 |
- Here you can choose whether or not to add program shortcuts
to your Desktop and/or Quick Launch bar.
|
 |
- You will be asked to choose a folder to install MP3Rocket.
You may choose the default folder or install in a different
folder.
|
 |
- Finally remove the check mark from the the box labeled
"Launch MP3Rocket Now"
and click "Finish".
|
 Restart
your computer...any programs you disabled in Step 1 will restart
automatically once your computer starts up again.
 A
new icon labeled 'MP3Rocket 5.0.3 PRO' (or similar,
depending on the version you received) will be created on your
desktop...double-click this icon to start the configuration.
 |
- Before you start using MP3Rocket, you must briefly complete
the steps in The Setup wizard, which will guide you through
the process.

 |
- You will be asked to designate a folder that will contain
the files you would like to share.
- Remember...this will also be the
folder where your downloads will be stored.
|
 |
- Choose your connection speed. If you do not know your
speed, select Modem if your connection is generally slow,
or Cable/DSL if it is fast. You can change your connection
speed at any time by going to Tools/Options/Speed.

 |
- Choose whether to allow MP3Rocket to scan your hard drive
for directories you might like shared.
|
 |
- A new feature of the software is firewall detection. The
program will now check to see that you have the necessary
access to the network.
|
 |
- Assuming network access has been granted, you will now
be asked if you would like the program to scan your hard-drive
for potential folders to share.
- We suggest you
select 'No'.

 |
- Setup and configuration of the software is now complete!
- Happy downloading!

WARNING! Once you startup
the MP3Rocket software your personal firewall/security program(s)
may prompt you to permit or deny access to MP3Rocket and/or
Java.
You MUST ALLOW/PERMIT
access to both of these programs in order to get connected
to the network, and for convenience (if this option is available)
you should choose the option to save this preference for use
each time. |
