Copying Your Favorite Movies to your iPod Video

The steps below will outline how to transfer and watch the movies you have downloaded on your iPod Video.

DOWNLOAD AND EXTRACT 3GP CONVERTER

Click the link below to download the conversion utility to your computer:

Once you have saved the installation file to your computer, right-click on the ZIP file and select Open With > Compressed (zipped) Folders. Select Extract all files on the left, and follow the steps to extract the files to the folder of your choice.

INSTALL 3GP CONVERTER

Navigate to the folder you extracted the utility to in Step 1 above, and double-click on Setup.exe to open the Configuration Manager (see image below).

The Configuration Manager will open with the default language set to Japanese. Select your language of preference from the drop-down menu and the options will automatically change (see image below).

Select Model: MP4, for iPod from the list and click Apply (see image below).

The Configuration Manager will close automatically, and the conversion utility (see image below) will open (if it doesn't, double-click 3GP Converter.exe to open it).

CONVERT YOUR MOVIE FILE

With the utility open, select MPEG4 544x416/2000kbps from the drop-down menu (see image below).

Click the Browse button and navigate to the folder you would like to store the new file in after conversion (the file which will be transferred to your iPod)...then click OK. Watch as your movie file is automatically converted to iPod video format (see image below).

IMPORT FILE INTO ITUNES

Open iTunes and select File > Import... from the main menu. Navigate to the folder where your newly converted file was saved and click Open.

Now, connect your iPod to your computer and iTunes will automatically transfer your new video file to your iPod. If your iPod was already connected, right click on your iPod in the Source list and choose Update.

NOTE: If iTunes does not transfer the movie file, it may not be configured properly. Select Edit > Preferences from iTunes' main menu and click on the iPod tab. Then, click on the Videos tab and verify Automatically update all videos is selected.

WATCH YOUR MOVIE!

You will find your movie by selecting the Videos menu on your iPod and then selecting Movies.

NOTE: If you have downloaded any music videos or video Podcasts through the iTunes Music Store, you will find them in the Videos > Music Videos and Videos > Video Podcasts menus respectively.
