BURNING AUDIO CD's WITH WINDOWS MEDIA
PLAYER 10
To verify the version of WMP you have, select Help
from the main menu and choose About
Windows Media Player. If you do not have the latest
version you can download it from the Media
Players section of this website.
- Open Windows Media Player
- Select Burn from
the menu along the top
- Click the Edit Playlist
button and then select the files you want to add to the playlist
(click 2 times to move file to playlist)
- Click OK when
you are finished selecting the files to add to the playlist
- Select the pull-down menu above the window on the right and
choose Audio CD,
then click the Start Burn
button to the left of the Edit Playlist button and the burning
process will start

You can download iTunes v4 for Windows and Mac
from the Media Players
section of this website.
- Open iTunes
- Click on Library
under the Source
column to the left side of the program
- Select all files you want to burn
(hold the SHIFT key while selecting to select multiple tracks
in a row, or CTRL to select individual tracks)
- Select File from
the main menu
- Select New Playlist from Selection
from the menu options
- A new playlist will be created from the songs you just selected
and will appear under the Source
column
- Click the Burn Disc
icon in the top right corner of the program
- If necessary, you will be prompted to insert a blank disc
- Click the Burn Disc
icon again to proceed with the burning process
- The status of the burning process will be displayed in the window
at the top of the program
WARNING! Before burning
a CD with iTunes, you need to ensure the program is configured to
burn the CD in audio format, as opposed to MP3 or data format:
- Select Edit from
the main menu
- Select Preferences
from the list on the edit menu
- Click on the Burning
tab
- Verify which option is selected for Disc
Format:
- Audio CD -
create an audio disc which you can play in any CD player
- MP3 CD -
create a disc with MP3 files which you can play in many portable
CD/MP3 players, car stereos that play MP3 files, etc.
- Data CD -
create a disc from the entire playlist...not all players will
recognize this format
- Click OK to apply
and save the changes

You can download MusicMatch Jukebox v9 for Windows
from the Media Players
section of this website.
- Open MusicMatch Jukebox
- Select Burn to CD
from the menu on the left
- A new window will open showing the tracks you want to burn and
will prompt you to enter a title for your CD
- You can drag and drop
music files from the main MusicMatch
window to the Burner
window
- Proceed with dropping files
into the burner window until the percentage displayed at the bottom
is close to (but not greater than) 100%.
NOTE: If you go over 100%, right click on a file
and choose Remove files...continue until the percentage is below
100.
- Click the Burn
when you are finished adding the files and are ready to burn the
CD
- If you are prompted, insert a blank disc in the drive and click
the Burn button
again
- The status of the burn process will be displayed in the Burner
window, and when completed the drive will eject with your new
audio CD.
WARNING! Before burning
a CD with MusicMatch, you need to ensure the program is configured
to burn the CD in audio format, as opposed to MP3 or data format:
- While in the Burner window, click on the Tools button
- Select Disc from
the list of options
- Select Change type from the list of options
- Verify which option is selected:
- Audio disc
- create an audio disc which you can play in any CD player
- MP3 disc
- create a disc with MP3 files which you can play in many
portable CD/MP3 players, car stereos that play MP3 files,
etc.
- Data disc -
create a disc from the entire playlist...not all players will

- Open Nero Express
- From the project selection page, select Music
> Audio CD
- From this next window, you are now ready to start adding audio
to your layout for recording to disc.
- Click the Add
button to select the files you would like to burn. A window will
appear that looks very similar to Windows Explorer and from here
you are able to choose the files you would like to record and
save on disc. Once you have selected your file(s), click Add.
- Once all your files have been added, click Next
to prepare your disc for burning.
- After checking the settings, if you are ready to record, click
the Burn button
and the burn process will begin.
- When the burn process is done, the completed
successfully status will be displayed on screen.
